Beautiful black paint, Bob, was that Tamiya?  I hope you figure out engine choice' its good you kept your options open…

Thanks Carl and yes, it is Tamiya paint.  I'm going with the blown engine that comes in the 41 Willy's Competition coupe (1963 Version).

A great looking truck so far Bob!

It looks like that black paint really behaved itself for you.

David G.

This kit comes with a trailer so I'm going to add the trailer hitch and have this truck pulling a drag car to the track.

Is the drag car going to be another build, or something you already have finished?

I'm not really sure DJ.  Just haven't decided yet.

Ok fellows, I thought I would continue this build thread with the trailer that comes in the kit.  I plan on hooking it to the truck and hauling a drag car our a classic car or truck.  I don't like the wheels and tires that come in the kit so I found some torque thrust that are a little on the small side but I think they'll work.  The trailer has a short box wall that goes around the floor but I don't know if I'm going to use that or not just yet.  I did find some dog dish hub caps that might look pretty kewl on the stock wheels.  There was a couple gas cans and a tool box that came in the kit so I'll be using them somewhere down the road.

I agree with you about maybe not using box walls - hard for driver loading vehicle on trailer to open the door to get out! (have first hand experience with that!)

I hear ya Brian.  I think the trailer is going to be black as well.

The weather is to bad to paint today so I thought I'd work on the tray for the gas cans and the tool box.  Trying to make up my mind if I like it with or without the back panel.

Nice tray build on your trailer Bob!

Thanks Carl.  I think it dresses up a some what plane Jane trailer.

Good call building the surround for the tray!

It looks much better that way.

Thanks David.  We had a month with no rain and now we can't turn it off.  I have parts piling up at the spray booth waiting to get some paint thrown on them.

I went ahead and shot some paint on the two gas cans and the tool box.  It was against my better judgement but didn't turn out to bad.  No way I would try and shoot a body with this kind of humidity.  I'll let these set for a couple days then paint the handles, gas caps, latch, etc.

Great detailing on the gas cans and tool box - gotta love a steady hand!

Thanks Brian.  I had my magnifying headset on and my left hand holding my right hand steady.  It was a site to behold.
