There's a hobby show in Japan in May, so it's about the time the news starts leaking out.

Showing up the last couple days on Hobbylink and Hobby Search:

Fujimi:

New Fiat 500 & Fiat 500 SRT-8 Hennessy (April 1st limited Edition)

Ferrari Dino 206 Competizione

R35 GT-R Spec V and Club Sport

1/20 McLaren MP4/6

Aoshima:

Mitsubishi EVO X & Option version

R35 GT-R Spec V (get the Fujimi if you're serious)

Tamiya:

Nissan Fairlady Z 34 (aka 370Z)

Should be photos by the time the show comes around in May. Good stuff :)

How old school am I? .. or, maybe that's just plain old... I'm most excited about the New Fiat 500 & Fiat 500 SRT-8 Hennessy :)

It's a cool little car. It's about the size, maybe slightly smaller, than a Toyota Yaris 3 dr.

Don't get too excited over an SRT-8. You'll have to make that one yourself :)

I sat in this one, a RHD version from Ireland, last fall. Fiat quality, at least fit and finish inside/out/underhood as good as anything I've seen. Nothing like the disco era!

Interior design is cool, and not nearly as juvenile as the new Mini Cooper.

I like new cars as well as old, the 370Z is one of my favorites ever since I saw one in person a couple months ago, it erased my initial contempt completely. The EVO X, not so much, I can't get excited over it. The Dino 206 Competizione, excellent, though I'd rather see a 206 SP. HLJ only says Dino 206, but one other source mentions Competizione.

To also add to Bob's list Fujimi is also releasing a set of 20" BBS wheels. For my fellow wheel hounds.

Chris

20's? Wow, wonder what I can fit a set of 20's on? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Yeah, I forgot to mention them :P

Maybe because they aren't 20" BBS Challenge wheels for the 599 GTB Fiorano/612 Scaglietti

Bastages.

:P All the same I pre-ordered them.

I'm really looking forward to the Fiat myself. Ever since I saw Jeremy Clarkson drive it and the Abarth, I really liked it. Hopefully we'll see an Abarth come out of this. I suspect so anyway.

That Dino is the Pontiac Aztek of the Ferrari world!!!

where's the :puke: smiley !?!?

sorry, but thats just my .02 cents...

the 20" BBS sound good though..

speaking of Ferrari Dino's, can anyone tell me if the Testors Dino 246GTS spyder kit is any good???

easy to build? fit issues,etc....

deffinently getting the 370Z (although it will be expensive since its from Tamiya), and i'll get the Fiat 500 since it looks like the 1:1 will be sold here in the states.

I'll also get the Evo X if it has a Left hand drive dash, now someone really needs to do the 2008-09 WRX STi

Hmm..

I went through HLJ today. No news on the Evo X though

It went missing for a bit, but now it's back (under Best Car GT). It's also on the Aoshima preorder list from Hobbysearch.

Which one? There's a curbside version and the full on Enthusiast version. I built the ES version a few years back (no longer have it), and frankly there are alot of parts that can be left out, because they are hidden. Lots of small parts to assemble, sits a little too high, and the wheels and tires are a bit small. The proportions look right, and overall it looks like a 246 Dino. take your time test fitting, and your patience will be rewarded with a nicely detailed model.

Any hopes, future hopes for a 2001-2006 Honda Insight? I'd love to build a kit of one. I'd like to FIND a kit of one! ;)

Not likely. It's well past the "sell by date" to be a viable kit to market. Too new to be considered a "classic", too old to be considered "hot property", too esoteric for the general market. Ebbro made nice ones in 1/43.

Scratchbuild it and get it resin cast if it turns out well. Seriously...

I have two of the Ebbro's, one HotWheels, and there exists some where on this green planet a 1/32-24 scale toy car of it from the Ultraman series. That was made back in 2001 and I dont' know how many were made as it's very, very rare to find.

I'm going to guess that with the new 2010 4-door Honda Insight coming soon, that it will rival the Toyota Prius and there will be model kit's of THAT Honda Insight, and THEN of the original one.

I dont' know why a kit has not been made considering how unique the car is.
