Leica007 Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 I got the Gold Rush Dodge van kit and will build it without the extreme body panels, so I wanted to see what could be done using those parts on a pickup body. Looked at various kits for ideas and decided the 68 Dodge kit would be easiest to do. Making it into a tow truck with custom show look seemed like a good idea, I posted a request for wrecker boom on the forum and thanks to Paul P. He had one that would fit my vision of the build. I searched emergency lights and found an AMT parts kit that had nice set of bars with the amber lens. I also found a wrecker sling kit by Checker & Wreckers. Luckily the old decals (in the colors I wanted) were still good. One of the hardest decisions I had was what color to use I I went with this This a quick review of the build First time trying to open the grill from the back, turned out pretty well. Added armrest panel and moved the pedals which looked way to close. Used embossing powder for carpet and foam rubber for ceiling panel. Here's the results of this fun build, hope you see something you like. Thanks for looking, questions and comments welcome. 1

espo Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 Excellent body fabrication and the finished work looks realistic. The paint color and finish look great as does the interior. Like the engine detailing. 1
Leica007 Posted November 9, 2024 Author Posted November 9, 2024 Thank you all for looking and taking the time to leave feedback. It was a lot of fun adding small extra details.
XYHARRY Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 Very cool wrecker, well done Lei. Cheers, David. ??
Chinacar Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 Looks like a wrecker you would see at a racetrack. Way too good to be running around the streets towing clunkers.
