Dave B Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 This is my take on the mythical blue Stradale, the only Stradale ordered in a colour other than red. Sold new to the Italian aviation tycoon Count Corrado Augusta he not only ordered it blue but also had it fitted with the same style seats as fitted to his helicopters. 3D resin printed from a download file (thanks Phil) it was an affordable way to procure one of my all time favourite road cars. It's posted under this thread due to the chassis being the Tipo 33 race car chassis and it being hillclimbed by Corrado. The interior was modified to reflect the helicopter seats and the body finished in auto acrylic blue and clear coated. The printed rear injectors were replaced with something a little more realistic. The actual car was sold to a collector in Japan who painted it red. It was subsequently purchased by a European collector who has since had the Stradale returned to blue. Now to continue the restoration of my 1/16 scale Stradale prototype while waiting for my printed DB4 Zagato (sorry Phil, another one to print for me!!) Tks for looking. Dave B 6
Roger U Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Very nice build of a good looking car. Clean work and the paint looks great. 1
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Checking out the great job on the window trim and paint. Classic. 1
1959scudetto Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 (edited) Once again you turned one of Phil's printed bodies into an excellent model, Dave - very nice (you must have an awesome collection)! Interesting history of this unique piece, too - I had no idea that it was specially built for Conte Agusta with helicopter seats. I only knew that there had been once upon a time a blue version... I will repaint one of my diecasts to match this one... Edited December 8, 2024 by 1959scudetto 1
Pierre Rivard Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 A real beauty Dave and quite refreshing to see it in blue. It seems like everything you build is something I'd like to build, but I don't have a Phil. Still always a pleasure to watch each of your unveilings. Keep them coming sir! 1
Rich Chernosky Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Dave...this really turned out cool. I follow your WIP's and can appreciate the work and creativity you put into these projects. I will really look forward to your restoration of the 1/16 version since I just posted a build of that car here. I will be re-doing the wheels and tires on mine as soon as they get here and add to that post. And thanks for all the input. 1

Exactly my thoughts - more Phils would be needed !
