stitchdup Posted January 4 Posted January 4 tamiya light smoke should work but you'll probably need more than one coat.
peteski Posted January 4 Posted January 4 I didn't know there was a "light smoke". The glass jar I have is called just "smoke" (from their transparent paints line), and yes, multiple coats will gradually get darker. I believe that Alclad also has a similar paint that is airbrush ready (called "tint" maybe?) but those are hot paints and will likely craze polystyrene if applied directly to the bare plastic.
Shark Posted January 5 Posted January 5 I have used the Tamiya smoke in a spray can directly on clear styrene windshields with no problem.

yh70 Posted January 5 Posted January 5 i have not tried this yet but read it on a face book group and they say it works. they also show a picture of it.. a few drops of Black food coloring in some Mop & Glo or Quick Shine then you dip the window down into it ( do not air brush or hand brush) and hang it up to dry over night. you can also do your front glass with it for a more glass look windshield (no tent) also if you use CA glue to install your glass the floor covering will keep them from fogging..
