FearKrew Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Been over 30 years since I’ve done a model and my wife bought me one for Christmas. She had no idea that I had to paint everything and then put it together 🤣 I can’t believe I ever stopped doing this. The model is a Chevy Cameo (Coca-Cola). I’ll post finished pictures as well, as soon as I buy some cement. I assume Testors is still the way to go???
Zippi Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Welcome back to the hobby and to the forum Marcus. There are a lot of different glues out there that will work. Just a matter of personal preference. I use the Extreme Power Medium glue from Hobby Lobby.
Tim W. SoCal Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Welcome to the community, Marcus! For glue, the Testors 3501X (Orange Tube) is still a great glue for non-detail work, but takes quite a while to bond and cure. I am having really good experiences with Plastruct Bondene and Tamiya Extra Thin, which bond almost immediately and dry quickly. Can't wait to see your work!...
Bainford Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Welcome to the forum, Marcus, and welcome back to the hobby. You just might be hooked, now. Enjoy.
trick my mixer Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Welcome aboard. Glad you missed this. My 2 cents on glue is By revell called Contacta. Blue bottle with yellow neck. Works for me.
NOBLNG Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Welcome to the forum Marcus. I prefer tamiya extra thin, but I am starting to use thin CA more and more.
