Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Any suggestions on how to replicate this grill for a '69 Caddy in 1/25 scale?
stitchdup Posted January 11 Posted January 11 theres some 3d phantom grilles for the late 60s chevy trucks that would cut down to fit
Old Buckaroo Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Ive got this from a junk box - it is about 60mm wide and 12mm high, If you can use it it yours.
gman Posted January 11 Posted January 11 You may get lucky and find a Model Car Garage photo etched detail set for a different vehicle that is large enough to fill the Caddy grill opening. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/196637560865 There is also generic, which may be of use.
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 Thanks guys! Sean, thanks but I don't think that would fit without quite a bit of modification. I did download a file for an RC Blazer billet grill by TLW3D on Cults3d. I modified the file; I just need to print it and hope it fits and looks good. If this doesn't work, Mr. Model may be an option.

Can-Con Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I kinda make mine like in the video but I use then sheet plastic rough cut to shape, stacked with each second piece set in slightly then sand it to final shape. 3

Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted January 19 Author Posted January 19 Thanks for the video Jim. I'll give that a try at some point. The results look great. In the meantime, I was able to print out something useful. Editing the TLW3D file didn't work too well. So I "scratch built" my own 3d file and came up with this, With a little sanding it will fit into the grill shell. Thanks for all the suggestions. 1
