Hard_2_Handle_454 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I've been wanting to do one like this for a long time, but always thought I'd have to do a custom paint job on it. I saw another build on a different site and was excited to find out the decals were included in the kit! I got this as a Christmas present from a friend. I couldn't wait to build it. Then, I started to run into problems. First, I really didn't like how the engine was doe, and wanted to do it a bit differently. But, because of how it's set up, you're kind of forced to build it the one way. I also didn't like the rims on it. They just don't look right. I ordered some new ones, but they were just a hair too big for the tires. Grrr! The parts were over molded on some pieces. The decals started to break apart and even dissolve on me. That's why they are slightly uneven and spotty. The edges started to dissolve and some started to break apart on me. It was hard to place them and frustrating for me. The clear part for the windshield also did not want to stay down and I got glue all over it. It kinda looks like bug splatter on a windshield, so at least that kinda worked out. It came out looking alright, but still, I wanted it to look a lot better than this. Rattlecan Dan Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Looks pretty nice to me. You can always spend some time correcting the little imperfections when you get a chance.
Phildaupho Posted January 18 Posted January 18 I really like the look of your Deuce especially the colour combination with how well the red painted areas work with the kit scallops. I reminds me of the Cee-Bee airplanes which I was always attracted to.
STU111 Posted January 18 Posted January 18 I understand fully regarding the windshield, I still get nervous when it comes time to put the windows in a model car. cool looking 32 roadster, white with the red scallops paint scheme looks striking. 👍🏻
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Classic hot rod. Good model build. Always fun to see. Yes, the glass is a royal pain. I struggled with the same glass and frame on another model like that.
