Hi David, really good solution for the back cab wall, and it is quite visible, so worth the extra effort. It’s coming together very nicely. I have used AS 10 for interiors as well, good choice with the blue exterior.

That’s a good idea, David - really finishes off the sides and back wall of your cab - very interesting solution!

Thank you Brian. I didn't make any upholstery for the sides of the sleeper as I'm almost certain that those will be all but impossible to see once the cab is assembled. But I am working on a headliner. :)

Thank you Steve, I'm glad to know that the back wall of the sleeper is quite visible. I may have to come up with a couple of girlie posters to decorate the area. :D

I do like Tamiya's AS paint line for interiors and vinyl tops, it has a really nice mat finish that can be enhanced to a vinyl-appropriate sheen with just a little buffing.

Thank you both for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Hello Everybody!

These are the results of my last few build sessions/

Here is the first pass of detail painting on the dashboard.

I've masked the flat gray areas so I can spray some clear on the woody bits to give them a little shine.

After the clearcoat I added some final details to the dash and it's ready to install.

I also painted up a travelling companion which I rescued from (I think) AMT's 62 Buick kit.

That's it for this round.

As always, thanks for stopping in for a look and please feel free to sign the guestbook on your way out. :D

Now that is some precision painting! When I try that, my results look like a 4 year old monkey did it. Fabulous dash , just beautiful!

Well done on your dash detail paint, David - those details really stand out.

Thank Brian. Detail painting is still my favorite part of the build but it's becoming more of a challenge as time goes by.

I’ve always liked these Revell Level 3 kits- this one and the KW W900. They’re super simplified but well designed; they turn into a very nice truck when done. And, as your build shows, when you add some extra detail and care the results can be stunning! Very nicely done!

Thank you Ronald. I do like these, and the Polar Lights snap-kits too. Both do build up well but it does require a little extra effort on the builder's part.

Hello Everybody!

The interior is completed!

Here's a little bit of the dash detail.

I also made up a travelling companion. A leftover from AMT's 62 Buick kit, I think. The blanket and pillowcase are from an upholstery pattern I made for a previous project. I printed them on paper and applied them decoupage style.

I dislike unfinished plastic interiors. So in addition to the upholstery piece I made for the back wall of the sleeper, I fashioned a headliner and bolsters for the B-pillars. I also made a pullcord for the air horns and a couple of girlie posters to dress up the sleeper. ;)

I wasn't sure if the posters would be easily seen after assembly but it seems they'll be more visible than I first thought. :D

That's all for this update.

As always, thanks for taking the time to have a look and please feel free to post any comments you may have.

The details on the dash and bedding are excellent.

Nice touch on the posters, you will definitely find more people staring into the windows.  😁

And that is why you are spending enough time to make the interior looking good!

Thank you Carl. I like to do something a little different for each model I build. Something to make it uniquely mine. It's nice when folks notice that.

I’m working on the same kit. Your truck is looking very clean. The interior is great! I’m hoping mine comes out as good as yours!

Thank you Brenton.

Do you have any photos posted yet?

I'd love to see what you're doing with your build. I always enjoy seeing what other builders can do with the same kit.

Tanks again for your comment, enjoy the build!
