David G. Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Dang! What a bummer. It's like I say in my sig line... Model builders, we're problem solvers who create our own problems to solve! I hope you can find a satisfactory to this. David G.
James2 Posted February 12 Author Posted February 12 Looks like I will have enough to repaint the main body. Just have to let it gas out and wait for a good day to use the airbrush.
customline Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Rooster, did you start with a cold can and not warm it up? If there isn't enough pressure in the can, it won't atomize properly. I will use a hair dryer on spray cans to boost the pressure. I've experienced what you described. You already had a paint job on it. Why not let it dry and wet sand instead of removing all that paint and primer. I know it's too late but maybe warming spray cans might help next time.
gman Posted February 13 Posted February 13 If you are airbrushing and need more: https://www.modelroundup.com/product-p/b-705.htm

I do warm them, it’s just one of those things. I have it stripped and primed again. I’m thinking of two toning it, we will see. 1

James2 Posted February 18 Author Posted February 18 Update: As the fenders were not damaged by my carelessness, I had just enough decanted color to paint the body with a bit for touch up if needed. I hope to buff at some point before reassembling. 6
customline Posted February 19 Posted February 19 That's gorgeous, Rooster. Real nice color. The red wheels work really well with the blue. This tudor body style is in my top ten. I'd really like to see a '46-'48 in a tudor, maybe resin 1
slusher Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Beautiful finish, looks like a perfect finish, Rooster! 🐔 1
espo Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Like the color and the red wheels & wide whites look perfect on this.
James2 Posted February 20 Author Posted February 20 Well, I'm calling this one done. As mentioned, it was a swap meet find I intended to chop but decided to repaint instead. Nice little shelf model, posted in under glass.
David G. Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Looking good! The wheels are a nice contrast. David G.
