I just finished up my second build of 2025. It’s a replica of Malcolm Durhams’ 72 Pro Stock Vega.I started on this one back in 2020 during the pandemic and lost interest in it.I was digging through some stuff this past weekend and found it in the box.Since it was pretty much done,I decided to finished it up yesterday. Its built as a curbside model since the engine and chassis are not correct anyway. The kit is the Round 2 MPC Grumpys’ Toy Vega kit.The decals are Slixx.I had a hard time with them cracking on me as soon as they hit the water and I should have sealed them or cleared over them. The front spoiler is scratchbuilt. The correct Crager Super Trick wheels are from Futturattraction Scale Products.I lowered it a bit.The paint is Testors star-spangled blue and Wet Look clear airbrushed. I raised the roll cage a little in the interior to make it look better.Just a fun shelf build for my collection.I included a picture of the Vega with a replica of his 63 Z11 Impala I built about 12 years ago.I plan to build more of his cars later on down the road. Thanks for looking.

They look great.  That’s odd about the decals I used the same slixx set on my Vega build and they were fine . I find that the slixx decals like very hot water. I really would like to see someone make a decal set for the 68 Camaro funny car and the 69 ZL1 Camaro super stocker

Thanks Michael. That would be nice if someone made the decals for both of those Camaros he raced.

Nice work.  I have had the same problem with some of Slixx Decals. IMO They are old and have been sitting in the stock room too long. Most of their stuff is great

Nice build on the Vega.  I love the Durham cars and recently finished the '71 Camaro funnycar (hope to post someday).

I have done a lot of funny cars, and several with Slixx decals.  I believe some decals which get old dry out.  If you get them direct from Slixx, they will usually work with you, or suggest what you should do.  I had this happen a couple times, usually just on the larger wide stripes like the Candies and Hughes Cuda.  Warm water, and a lot of patience sometimes.
