BIGTRUCK Posted February 15 Posted February 15 (edited) I want to do an old style 60's custom with some of the oddest parts ever. Its hard to make the rear treatment look good except to go all in. Smoothed in the rear area by softening the plasic with liquid glue to melt it in then sand it as smooth as I could then a skim coat of filler. Cut up the roof and mold in the crazy front. For ride height , it was easy with wire axles to move the hole up higher, also what made it easy as Im using a motor plug instead of an engine. Its early in so I have alot more sanding to get this Chevy smooth. Edited February 15 by BIGTRUCK 4 1
Sledsel Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Don't see many old 60's customs. Looking kool. I wonder how one would look with the passengers side rear treatment on both sides? Keepin' an eye on this one since I am into a 60's custom also but it's a 64 Mercury.
Zippi Posted February 16 Posted February 16 That rear treatment is looking pretty sharp there Ken. I'm liking this build so far.

I will put 2 exhaust on the right so it will have 1 single light left and right. I did a 64 .erc a few years back a have 2 more originals 1 H/T and 1 convert.
Vintage AMT Posted February 16 Posted February 16 This is just the stuff I live to build, real crazy! Following.

I am using the kit supplied custom parts but with modifications. I have several so I can experiment a bit.
BIGTRUCK Posted February 21 Author Posted February 21 All smoothed out and ready to start looking a color inside and outside,I changed the dashboard with an insert I found in a parts box but dont have a clue what its from. Lowered it as far as it can go and grabbed these whitewalls and spokes from the Hasagawa 66 Chevy kit. 1
BIGTRUCK Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 Paint on , I'll leave it for awhile before I start the foil. Waiting on flock for interior so time to start another project😄
BIGTRUCK Posted March 8 Author Posted March 8 About 60% done. Still need to bare metal foil the body, add glass, chrome accessories (spots ,mirrors etc.)rear lights ,exhaust pipes and make some sun visors. Interior took time as I worked it with brushes and added MCG flocking carpet . I modified the dash and still have a few more interior things to do. Even tho' I used an engine plug instead of the 409 I did some chassis detail. Tires and spokes are from Hasagawa 65/66 Chevy. Also needed to crazy up the front to go with the crazy rear. 2
