ranma Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Gene Hackman, Along with his wife and dog were all found dead in their New Mexico Home On Feb 26, 2025
TonyK Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Very sad to hear as he was one of my all time favorite actors. Strange situation so will be interesting to find out what happened. Such great acting roles from serious to comedy.
bobss396 Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Ever see the movie "PC U"? I think that was the name. One student was doing a thesis on that at any given time, there will be a movie on TV with either Hackman or Michael Caine starring in it. I recently watched The Conversation from around 1974.
slusher Posted February 28 Posted February 28 (edited) First time I saw him was watching the French Connection on television with my dad in the 70’s …. One of the great actors R.I.P. Edited February 28 by slusher Typo

I work in the natural gas industry and the consensus around the office is carbon monoxide. You've got to really hate someone to murder them and their dog, it just doesn't seem likely.
ChrisBcritter Posted March 2 Posted March 2 This Dodge van was supposedly bought new by Gene Hackman, according to the elderly lady my boss got it from: (very old cellphone pictures) The story was Gene used it to haul a motorcycle and go camping, then traded it in at a Cadillac dealer in South Pasadena; her husband was head of the sales department and kept it for himself. Unfortunately we never could verify the story. 2
NYLIBUD Posted March 3 Posted March 3 (edited) That sucks that he died.He was in so many movies during his career. My favorite is definitely The French Connection..I read that the director/producer didn’t get all the proper permits to film the chess under the L train..And of course, greatest stunt driver,Mr.Bill Hickman along with Hackman doing some parts of the chase..’But Idk IMO I still think he,his wife a dog all died of Co2 poisoning…Whatever the reason is,it is just such a huge loss...RIP Gene Hackman.Good bye Popeye Doyle🙏 Edited March 7 by NYLIBUD
