Belugawrx Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Anybody know of anyone who has made (scratchbuilt), or casts said roof...info greatly appreciated Something like this... Almost flat glass in the back, with small b-pillars, front curved 1
Pierre Rivard Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I tried to scratch build one for mine without success, so for now we are... topless 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I don't have a hardtop, but dang it, now I need the kit... 2
Mark Posted March 20 Posted March 20 The kit is actually quite nice, considering it's origins lie in the mid-Sixties as the Get Smart TV car, which was built for the show by AMT's Speed and Custom division. Though badged as a Tiger (all of which had Ford V8 power) the Get Smart kit had the Alpine four cylinder engine, to make room under the hood for a small cannon that retracted under it. Lesney later converted the Tiger to stock, replacing the four with the correct V8. I remember that was one of the first new kits issued under Lesney's relatively short ownership of AMT. I could kick myself for not buying a bag of parts from the Get Smart kit that included that engine.

Ragtop Man Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Dead ringer for one I've seen on TR6's - would that help the search at all? 1
Belugawrx Posted April 23 Author Posted April 23 If anyone has one of these Aoshima kits, do me a favour and take a couple measurements for me please....? It's a 1:24th kit whereas the Sunbeam is 1:25th, but it would save me ordering one for $100 CDN to find out it's too big...lol Thanks for any help. Cheers
