Bullybeef Posted March 13 Posted March 13 When I moved back to NFLD last year I visited my sister and she told me there was a box in the basement that I had left behind when I left in 2002, so I went down and had a look. It was a large box of model kits and parts and finished builds that I had from the late eighties to the early nineties. As I dug into the box a bit deeper my brother in law was there and remarked that there was one that caught his eye. So I poked that one aside with the idea of doing a sympathetic restore one day. I’ll start with the as it was pics and then show the after, this was done in the period of 24 hours. And yes I wished I had new chrome for it. All I did was disassemble ( I was a sparing glue user back then) so it came apart rather nicely. Clean, do some mild paint touchups, polish the paint out and reassemble. I did add the decals that I neglected to put on back then. It was a fun project and it filled some time. The plan is to give it to him when he visits again. This is now a true survivor and an example of my early automotive car building. 14
Hard_2_Handle_454 Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Very Nice! These were a good simple kit to build, that looks great when finished. This was the first kit I tried to build when I started building car models 23yrs ago. 2
happy grumpy Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Great looking build. Always liked to build these old monogram kits. 2
ncbuckeye67 Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Excellent build! I love the "high impact" Mopar colors (especially fond of the 71 Cuda). 2

DJMar Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Oldie but goodie! I like the billboards much better than I thought I would, they really pop. 1
espo Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Great looking restoration on the Cuda. Amazing how a little extra detailing and some added trim can change the appearance of an old build. 1
