DRIPTROIT 71 Posted March 15 Posted March 15 This is an old Illini Replicas cab on the Amt Peterbilt frame. It has the Ertl IH air ride with one drive axle and a tag axle. The 318 Detroit is from the Peterbilt kit. The trailer is from Keystone with Lindberg flatbed suspension and landing gear. I added a wood deck. 7
BK9300 Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Very nice build - really like the colour! Lots of extra details like the A/C lines add another layer of interest. Good looking combo! 1
freightshaker2 Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Outstanding! Great job! I like the green chicken lights! 1
stavanzer Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Wow! What a Sharp Build, of a Truck I've never seen before. The Yellow is a good choice. It makes the truck stand out well. Good Show. 1
leafsprings2 Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Great to see another Illini being built, excellent job on this one! Really like this era of trucks without a lot of unnecessary chrome to get the job done, it's all business, the paint scheme, tag axle, intake exhaust system work looks right at home and the period outside rail trailer is a perfect match to this classic. 1
Rockford Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Very "of its era" with the single drive and the tag axle. Love it. Like the pot belly trailer too, thinking of one myself.

happy grumpy Posted March 17 Posted March 17 What a nice piece. We don't see these often . Very realistic photos. You really come up with nice builds, it's a joy to look at.
cifenet Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Gorgeous work, there is something about yellow trucks! The chrome accents and yellow color combination make this truck pleasant to look at. The matching trailer setup makes this build stand out even more.
Gary Chastain Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Brian, what a cool subject and it turned out sooooo good.
1959scudetto Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Excellent working truck, Brian - with a perfectly matching flatbed trailer. Suddenly it's 1964.
Biggu Posted March 18 Posted March 18 I can only echo all of the comments and add, it is an outstanding build. Clean, straight and precise. Attention to detail is excellent. What a beauty. Everything exactly period correct. Top drawer
