I just realized I asked the same question in December of last year. There is one that might work, but it’s rare and expensive. Also, I damaged the 3D printed body. I have not had good luck with 3D printed parts that are thin.

Have you thought about using cheap disposable lighter shells?

I just noticed a couple on my desk that should work great.

EDIT: To get the Ford script, resize an internet image, trace it on .020" styrene sheet, cut it out with a very sharp X-Acto, glue it to your end cap, then bury it in enough primer to fill the edges.

If your hands don't shake, it IS possible.

I don’t have the coordination for that.

I got two sizes of Bic lighters. I think that with a little work, the standard size would look good, but that still doesn’t have the Ford name on it. I guess 3D print is the way to go for this idea.

what does the icm t racers have?

Exactly what I’m looking for. I did not know about this kit. I’ll try to find one for a good price. Thank you.

Apart from a Ford logo an oval tank might not be too difficult to scratch build. In 1/8th scale you may be able to use a piece of small plastic drain pipe cut to length and compress it to the oval shape required. A small length of square or rectangular wood moulding  could be used as an insert to compress the plastic tube to and form the shape. Drill a couple of very small counter sunk holes to take small wood screws top and bottom so the screw heads are below the surface and when screwed to the wooden insert use some filler to make good the surface. Or place the screw holes where the two bands are shown in the photo Ace put up placing the bands on afterwards to hide the screw heads.
