Koellefornia Kid Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Hi fellas, again I tried to replicate a John D’Agostino built custom car in scale, the Firestar, a ‚chopped ’61 Ford Thunderbird: I must confess that I wasn’t successful as I was in previous attempts to rebuild famous kustoms. Paint scheme, roof and taillights aren’t 100% correct but it’s done now and I can apply myself to new projects. I used AMT’s ’62 convertible kit and a modified and a chopped Monogram ’58 T-Bird roof, lowered and shaved the body, reshaped the rear wheel openings and modified the wheels, taillights, steering wheel and wiper mounts with bearing balls of different sizes. I also scratch built hood peaks to simulate a ’61 hood. Engine was wired and topped with a parts box air cleaner. Like I said, my Firestar my not be a show winner but still a nice addition to my ’61 Olds Golden Starfire and ’68 Buick Pantheon. I plan fo build more D’Agostino creations in the near future. Thanks for looking, and as always comments are welcomed and appreciated. Greetings from Cologne, Germany 7
Belugawrx Posted March 23 Posted March 23 I'd say you did pretty good on that T-bird Oliver. Well done ! 1
espo Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Great looking model of the real car. The paint colors look the same and the chrome trim and body mods all look great. 1
