bobss396 Posted March 23 Posted March 23 I'm looking for a decent 1/25 or G scale outboard boat engine. Size and brand are not important. I don't want to spend big bucks on a vintage kit and I want it to look fairly realistic I have seen some cast resin pieces that were pretty bad looking so far. Anyone got a source? Thanks.
stitchdup Posted March 23 Posted March 23 if you have a small scale plane, most of the shapes you need are in the wings or tailplane. cut up a plastic spoon for the props and your near done
Mike 1017 Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Depending on what type of boat that you are build I would consider a car engine Good luck Mike
Can-Con Posted March 23 Posted March 23 (edited) sounds like you need the outboard from this kit? Spotlight Hobbies has them in stock for about 43 bucks so don't be suckered into paying big bucks for one, it's a current kit, not a "collector's kit". Edited March 23 by Can-Con 1

There is also a 1959 Lindberg cabin cruiser with 2 outboards in it. There is a toy one made by Tomy that came with a boat. I can get a non working one on eBay that looks like an old Mercury unit.

Zen Posted March 24 Posted March 24 The Bass boats show up on ebay as loose kits from time to time, might be able to find one there?

If I remember right, they are oversized. They might make a base for a scratchbuild, though.

64SS350 Posted March 25 Posted March 25 The Revell River Rat has one, not sure about depth of detail it has. I acquired the kit from a friend, with the intention of casting the motor, but of course haven't done so yet. 1

So far not much out there as 3D printed.
