PatW Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Having recently acquired a beach buggy kit and being a great supporter of that genre, I have started to copy the dimensions, all out of Evergreen Plasticard. So far... 5 1
WillyBilly Posted March 27 Posted March 27 I like what you have done so far. I look forward to the finished product.
PatW Posted March 27 Author Posted March 27 Cheers Billy, I shall try to start to build one of the 3D VW engines supplied by a UK 3D printer guy today, so that it fits the tube chassis and body.
PatW Posted March 27 Author Posted March 27 Sounds funny but I've started the engine! Here's seven of the twelve components! I hope to do some painting tomorrow before attaching the other parts. 1
PatW Posted March 30 Author Posted March 30 So the engine is built. I couldn't find a ready wired distributor as most are packed away ready to move house! 3
PatW Posted March 31 Author Posted March 31 The beginnings of the chassis. The engine, wheels etc. Not super detailed, so to then space the wheels and continue with the body shape.
PatW Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 Cheers Carl. I'll soon be looking at the wheels and axles, then shaping the bodywork!
johnyrotten Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Nice work sir. This reminds me of the Manx, with a bit more modern shape. Very cool.
Nosferatu Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Nice work Pat! I like all the angles and the wheels. Keep up the nice work! Dave
PatW Posted April 4 Author Posted April 4 Thanks guys, bodywork done and grey primer was laid on at teatime.
PatW Posted April 6 Author Posted April 6 (edited) Nearly but not quite! Although painted it needs more work! Painting and photo's show up problem areas that need more work, plus I have knocked off a couple of bomber seats, but steering and rear seat yet to be made! Plus lights and number plates etc. Edited April 6 by PatW 1
PatW Posted April 11 Author Posted April 11 (edited) Thanks Bob just as I finished it! No windscreen as the lights are behind the driver, if there was all the driver would get at night would be the reflection of the lights. More pics tomorrow in the completed section! Edited April 11 by PatW 1
