Mike C Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Here is the box art first: Here's the engine with some PE, CF and heat staining. There aren't too many pictures available of the 1/1 car, but there are some engine shots and body shots of good quality. The PE set camoes with some paint stencils for the DENSO on the radiator. I tried it and got a red smear. I cleaned the paint off and used the kit decals. I really didn't think the stencil could do the job. 7
Mike C Posted June 6 Author Posted June 6 Further progress. I completed the cockpit. Fabric seatbelts, some PE and CF decals. And a few other shots. 4
Phildaupho Posted June 7 Posted June 7 You are doing excellent work. I look forward to seeing your completed model. A friend has been working on his for 20 years and I think he may finally get it done this year but maybe not in time for the race in which Toyota is reviving the iconic GTI red and white livery.
Nacho Z Posted June 7 Posted June 7 Very nice work so far! I’m looking forward to seeing more of your progress.
Rattlecan Dan Posted June 7 Posted June 7 I'm agreeing with all the compliments. Some excellent detailing.
Mike C Posted July 4 Author Posted July 4 (edited) Fresh out of the paint booth. Only the nose of the car is white so I had to paint the whole front part white before painting the red over it. This finish is fresh out of the airbrush, no polishing at all. It's just Testors white enamel decanted from a rattle can. Edited July 4 by Mike C 2
Mike C Posted Friday at 03:31 PM Author Posted Friday at 03:31 PM Here's a little further progress. I just painted the red. Unfortunately the masking is never perfect and some red blew through some spots that I will be touching up after the red is good and dry after a couple of days. 1
Mike C Posted Saturday at 03:29 PM Author Posted Saturday at 03:29 PM Here's the nose cleaned up from the bleed through. 1
