Valvefloat Posted April 17 Posted April 17 What tools do you use for installing small parts like mirrors or turn signal lenses? 1
Belugawrx Posted April 18 Posted April 18 ... sorry thought this was about clear parts...I'll see myself out.... Buy a good pair of tweezers that actually hold something tight...pricey, but worth it...next, pin the parts if you can, like mirrors etc. drill a small hole (you will need to get some number drill bits..like 70 thru 80) where you want the part to go, and a similar sized hole in the part where it's mounting point will be, install a small piece of like sized wire and glue into place. What exactly are you trying to mount..?
johnyrotten Posted April 18 Posted April 18 (edited) I've got a very large collection of tweezers, and recently my wife has these sticky pen type applicators used for diamond art. They work pretty well. Pinning things is a plus like mentioned above. Edited April 18 by johnyrotten 1
Valvefloat Posted April 18 Author Posted April 18 It's mostly the clear parts and I QuickShine them days before but I don't want to handle them(gloves) too much. I saw a toothpick with some sticky on it, silly putty?
Belugawrx Posted April 18 Posted April 18 (edited) Silly Putty is not sticky.. BlueTac works well There are special 'Model' sticky sticks....but I'm of Scottish decent..won't spend the pesos Edited April 18 by Belugawrx

NOBLNG Posted April 18 Posted April 18 This is the glue I like for clear parts. And like said…for mirrors, door handles etc. pins are your friend. I use this rod or 0.020” brass for pins. Any small wire will work but it has to be fairly stiff. 3
slusher Posted April 18 Posted April 18 one of those pens ladies use to put little. Rinstones their face works scal motor sport has these.. https://scalemotorsport.com/products/grabitstix™
R. Thorne Posted April 18 Posted April 18 A toothpick with bluetac works pretty good. I am currently experimenting with this. So far, so good. 1
