mustang1989 Posted April 18 Posted April 18 When I started this build 14 months ago, I had no idea 1.) that it would take me this long to build this bird and 2.) just how difficult some parts of it would be. I contemplated building the Zoukei-Mura offering of this aircraft but after looking at all the parts involved, I chose the simpler route (or so I thought) and went with the Dragon kit. The engine that came in the Dragon boxing was NOT the way to go for me just for the mere fact that it didn't have ANY detail. I even had an Aires engine kit for this aircraft and that didn't have enough detail on it either. The ZM kit engine was just perfect as it had a LOT of detail and so......I went with that. You know how kit bashing can be though: When we make one big change here......there's another big change there....and if you make that change.............you get the point. I did end up making it through the engine fit issues and some of the other fit problems that Dragon had in store for me and finally finished it all up today. Mods include: Zoukei-Mura Jumo 213 engine and associated ammo boxes/ cannon assembly that goes through the crankcase of the engine, HGW fabric seat belts, Aries tail wheel retracting mechanism and tail fin access panel to see all of that. Quinta Studios 3D decals for the instrument panel and side consoles and leftover photo etch for rudder pedals and various details in the cockpit. I also used a control stick from an Fw190 A-8 as it is the same in the 1:1 world but much better detailed in the scale world. With that ....here she is. Thank you all who followed along with my build. It was great having you along for the ride. 2
