Meng 1/35th scale.

This was a very enjoyable project.  Not particularly difficult, but a good amount of work and little different from what I usually build.

There a handful of parts that are installed during the final assembly which are engineered so that the seams have to be dealt with, and then painted, after installing them on the almost finished model, but it's all part of the job.

From Caterhams to...Caterpillars?  We've seen your talents in a number of scales and automotive categories, but this was a surprise, at least to me.  I know nothing about the subject matter but it looks like you nailed the details as usual.  Nice work!

I saw the "Kilroy" image (Kevin was here) on one of the hatches and went back to the WIP to learn the background.  Great tribute!

Question: why would a few external parts remain painted in Caterpillar yellow?

That's a great looking dozer.  Very well done.  Is this US Army or IDF?

This one is U.S. Marines.

I don't know why those parts are yellow; I followed the instructions.  But there are photos that show it is correct.

I have no doubt about the accuracy.  Anyone who has seen your work knows you wouldn't do something like that without doing your due diligence via a ton of research.  Just curious how something like that happens in the 1:1 world.

I believe they would be replacement parts obtained diretly from Caterpillar and thus in the original CAT yellow.

That's a logical possibility.  Makes sense to me.
