As the title says, this is something I started in '62 and then life got in the way. Found in a box in the stash and thought maybe I should finish this. I had started to make this into a short bed F-100 and chopped the top before putting it all back in the box. Stayed with the short box idea and shortened the chassis to match. Not sure, or care if the bed dimensions are correct, this is eyeball engineering. The body putty used originally was from AMT as they offered small tubes of the stuff and it work well at the time. The biggest problem I had with the bed was "butt welding" the bed back together even with strips glued to the inside. The kits bed cover was trimmed to fit the shortened bed. The bed floor couldn't be found and that was just as well since I tubbed the rear wheel wells for the larger slicks and lowered the front and rear using the lowest setting that chassis plate provided along with a mild channeling of the chassis plate. Tamiya spray paints were used on the body and interior. The seat pattern is from Scale Motorsports. The engine came in the kit and only painted with no other detailing done. I was able to cut the rear window to fit but managed to destroy the windshield and made a new one out of some clear plastic. The wheels and tire were bought at a swap meet long ago and aren't anything special but convey the look I was after. The body side decals help sort of hide the point where the bed was put back together. This will never be seen at a show, but felt I had to finish it or strip it for parts.

Looking mighty good for a 58-year-old build. Really like your color choices.

Hi Rick. Thank you for your kind words. With the interest in the current Round 2 reissue, when I found this, I just felt it needed to be done. I had forgotten how clunky some of the kits we worked with in our youth.
