53gmc Posted June 11 Posted June 11 (edited) Got this cab for my birthday, it's from global trucks. Used an astro as a donor. Following mods include: *shortened the frame by around 2" *shortened the fuel tanks. *converted to single axel using the spring and axel from a freightliner *converted the 8v71 to 6v71. Also made the fan to be a crank driven one. Lowered the radiator to fit. *added little details to the interior, sunglasses, map, magazine, model car kit, curtains, and roof mounted cb. *also added roof mounted ac unit, grab handles, photo etched windshield wipers, and mudflaps. leafsprings2 Posted June 12 Posted June 12 Excellent cracker box build. Global cab looks very good. Great choice using an Astro frame, wheels and WF single drive, paint scheme is perfect, especially like the front bumper paint treatment, the way GMC would have done it at the factory. 1

Expand Thank you! It's a nice conversion kit, my first time working with 3d parts. It took me almost as long to pick out a paint scheme as it did to build it lol
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted June 14 Posted June 14 I like everything about this build, from the subject to the paint scheme. Excellent work!
BIGTRUCK Posted Sunday at 11:37 PM Posted Sunday at 11:37 PM Very nice..I really enjoy seeing the 60's and early 70's trucks done..I liked that early style GMC with a sleeper or the daycab version.
BK9300 Posted Monday at 02:32 AM Posted Monday at 02:32 AM (edited) Great job on your modifications - nice looking build. Also like the photography in the sunlight - crisp shadows of truck on the ground makes it look all the more realistic. Edited Monday at 02:33 AM by BK9300
