So this is my hotel build.

As you can see, I took the running boards and front fenders off it and have the rear fenders mounted.

I will be running the lowered front suspension and doing my take on a 34 Hotrod truck.  Going to use the flathead for it, and gonna try my hand at straight pipes off the block.

I will have to get some primer tomorrow after work, and take it outside to shoot it and let it gas off before bringing back up to my hotel room.  I do have a couple different blues, and I think it will work with what I am doing.  I am thinking tan interior but not a 100% sure yet.

Will try and get this kit fully done minus mounting the wheels on it since I will have to have it tucked into the suitcase and it will get bounced about. I have access to some soft shipping foam that I am going to wrap it in as well.

Will keep posting on status as I complete things.

I didn't want this to be .. box style so I figured....30's hot rod. So now to see how this goes.

Lots of options for that truck, and the kit has 2 different engines and some other goodies. I went a bit crazy with mine, the kit has a ton of potential.

So painting at the hotel is fun. Took the box out with a bunch of stuff to put in primer.. was fun, and of course the wind kicked up so yeah.

Will try and shoot the bed and cab tomorrow, and that moment when you realize the other color you need to spray .. you dont have .. flat black, and flat tan, but hey you have the blue for the body and bed....

Now that's the way to do it Michael...building a model in a hotel.

My brother built a '66 Chevelle stock car in a hotel room in France while working for Northrop-Grumman over 6 weeks, on the E2C program.

He had to find a hobby store to pick up a few things he needed.

Tomorrow I am gonna grab a can of tan for the interior and some flat black for the frame and front grill assembly.  Once I get that shot, I send the bits and bobs to the house, and just do brush things.  From what I can tell, I have what I need I am thinking to finish the kit.

On hold until I get home. The wind here has been brutal so not able to do anymore work on it.

Will resume in about 10 days if things go right.

Here are the pictures I promised and some more work as well.

The blue is Race Blue by Tamiya, and the Tan is Sand Tan (I think is the name) by Tamiya.

Shaping up to be a sharp looking '34.👍👍

Thanks! I am working on it be a mild 30's custom. No running boards and flat head and the right tires/wheels.

Awesome. I went "dragged out of a barn and cut up" with mine. I like the period correct idea a bit more.

Nice! And a bit more work on the truck!

The one pic of the interior shot I took turned out darker than expected 😕IMG_2345.jpg.dba06cfdb57034d8e15181c38a8f0b10.jpg

Great color of blue and nice progress!   Looking excellent!

If I can get bench time tonight I will get the little bits n bobs in the interior done, the air cleaner painted and assemble it. Then it's door handles and a couple other things and it's done.

So I got an hour, mounted a few bits and bobs, have things mounted and will paint tomorrow. Will mount the bed and cab, and then do door handles and license plates.

Plus I got a ton better shot of the interior too!

Will dust things before I take final pics for Completed post!

Here is some more progress:
