Zippi Posted Saturday at 02:56 PM Author Posted Saturday at 02:56 PM I went ahead and got everything cleaned up this morning and got the body parts in primer. I'm not as concerned about how the primer looks as it will be covered up. It's the topcoat that is going to require the better weather conditions. 5
Zippi Posted yesterday at 02:21 PM Author Posted yesterday at 02:21 PM I thought on this build I would try the bmf over the script then shoot the top coat. After it has cured then remove the paint off the bmf with a pointed Q-Tip and lacquer thinner. Not sure if my hands are steady enough but we'll see. I may have a chance on this coming Friday to throw some paint on the body. The Heat and humidity supposed to drop. 5

G’day Bob, I’ve wanted to try this technique on badges for some time but have been a bit hesitant. Keen to see how you do. 👍🏻

I found these Tamiya swabs help a lot with precise removal of paint from scripts and badges. Check out Scale Riders they have them in stock. Dont over soak with the thinner. Dip and wick away excess on paper towel. Then just take your time lightly wiping over the paint on the raised script. No need to try remove in one go. You will have to dip and wipe multiple times, being patient with the process will get you the best results 😉

Yup, I get those here locally at Hobby Lobby. I always have these on hand.
