Modlbldr Posted July 25 Posted July 25 I am looking for copies (photocopies, actual articles cut from mags, or pics of the articles) of HBB drawings, with the descriptive captions, from the 80's-90's mags. I have included pics of a couple of the articles for reference. Willing to pay shipping on what you want to send. Later-
Ragtop Man Posted September 25 Posted September 25 Would his early work in Rod & Custom do you any good? His line work is outstanding, you can spot one of his renders a mile away.
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 25 Posted September 25 I don't have anything for you, but it's really a great subject to collect. He was certainly one of the best of the best, one of my heroes in earlier days.
Mark Posted Tuesday at 12:41 AM Posted Tuesday at 12:41 AM Unlike some of the other artists doing car restyling sketchpads back then, he actually measured the cars and parts being used. The pieces would work together as illustrated. Some other guys would have the components sized or proportioned incorrectly relative to one another.
Spex84 Posted Tuesday at 01:46 AM Posted Tuesday at 01:46 AM Harry Bentley Bradley's linework and core shadows filled me with both inspiration and curdling envy when I was learning to draw cars. Never got there myself, but still love his art! I kept several mags that have scans of his work...the feature that comes to mind immediately is his series of slick Modifieds in Street Rodder magazine. But those images are featured here: https://www.deansgarage.com/harry-bentley-bradley-part-2/
