78 jeep j-10 with camper does anyone have any info on this kit and box art and if going to be a Revell u.s version or a Japanese version and how much

Well, I'll try. It's this kit.

 

Here is the timeline for this tooling. First tooled in 1981. It will have the wheels and tires shown in the HPI Guy review.

The wheels and tires on the original box are long gone. Otherwise it should be pretty much the same kit. The Camper Shell (topper) Brush Guard and Cab Light Bar are the only real differences with the kit that I remember. Of course there probably won't be a snow machine either.

Yep. You see the new wheels Revell is using.

I would not expect any chrome in the kit.

If there is Chrome, it would be the first time ever.

Can't wait. I have decals and a paint code in mind to make me a '79 Golden Eagle J10 and cut windows into the shell.

Yeah, the windows from any of the recent AMT Ford Vans would work on the Shell.

Same ole, same ole...but i dont think that pickup topper, roof light rack, or center section push bar (both of the latter are different than the roll bar/KC lights and full brush guard that has come in all the other boxings) has come in any release since the original 1981 release of the "Dude" kit.

You are correct, James. The Camper Shell, Roof Lights and Push Bar, are unique to this boxing. Absolutely awesome to have them back. I'll just need to hit up Fireball Models for better wheels & tires, as the kit ones are poor.....

I'd like to see the aftermarket make some grilles for the kit...the Revell grille is a bit generic.

Especially if they also make a Cherokee/Wagoneer conversion (you would just need to shorten the chassis a little bit!)

They did the last time the kit was reissued. Both older grilles and the Cherokee body.
