No one is forcing anyone to read anyone's else's posts, so I am not sure what all this ignored member fuss is all about ?

Because those that view "latest" posts see all chronological posts in their feed by everyone that posts. Sometimes an ignored member posts a rash of comments/posts and it can be annoying to some degree to have to scroll past so many posts. It's kind of like Facebook, but at least on FB you won't see posts by the "unfollowed". Not everyone has the time or desire to see everything that's out there.

There's an irony in this Bob.

Looks like ignored members cannot actually be ignored judging by what you said in your post.

Not having a reason myself to want to  ignore any member, how is it supposed to work? Is it meant to block what they put up from being viewed just by the instigator and not everyone else when the instigator logs on ?

it stops you from seeing the ignored member, i think they can still see your posts
