Lemcoplasticworks Posted Wednesday at 12:36 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:36 AM I started on this 1960 Chevy pickup back in 2019 for a build off and essentially never made it much further than what you see you in the pictures. I made the truck a unibody and took another 60's bed to carry the bed side design into the tailgate. There's a lot more custom work I'm doing to the body alone in the next couple of days and will also be cutting out the bed floor I originally built as I'm wanting to build a frame to show off rather than hide. 7
BK9300 Posted Wednesday at 05:58 AM Posted Wednesday at 05:58 AM Very cool idea - lots of work into this one, so far. 1
Cool Hand Posted Wednesday at 10:21 AM Posted Wednesday at 10:21 AM Good one, shaping up like an Aussie ute. Look forward to seeing the build progress and what you do for the frame. 1
Zippi Posted Wednesday at 11:27 AM Posted Wednesday at 11:27 AM I'm really diggin this build Pat. Where did the wheels & tires come from and what size. 1

I honestly don't remember. I bought them back in 2018 from someone who wasn't really printing wheels to sell. The new wheels I ordered though are very similar "Intro Vistas" You can find them through a google search if you just add 1/25 after the name
Lemcoplasticworks Posted Wednesday at 07:14 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 07:14 PM Decided to use the hood from a 65. I'm not a big fan of the hood that came with it. The hood is molded into the fenders, cab and front clip to just carry over little more of the custom touch like I've done with the bed. Even with majority of the hood being like this you can still plenty of the engine department. I've also tucked in the front bumper a little bit and started molding that in as well as getting rid of the rood cap "Not sure what it's called" But without the roof just has a more fitting look to the rest of the body mods. New wheels should be here later today and hopefully soon the big block twin turbo motor that's going to be in it. 4
stitchdup Posted Wednesday at 08:12 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:12 PM I did a similar mod the the roof on my crew cab for the same reason as you. I stuck with the early hood though cos i lost the bottom half from the 65, and i've reshaped the back of the cab to be more like the chevy avalanche. I'll get back to it sometime 2

Lemcoplasticworks Posted Wednesday at 11:31 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 11:31 PM My Intro Vista's from Jay's resin wheels showed up this afternoon. Running a 24 inch with a decent rear lip. Will start chroming them tonight so hopefully soon I can start building out the frame for this thing. If anyone has any interior ideas please share! I'm not entirely sure what to do with it. I want it to be custom but also not completely take away from the 60's era of it lol. 2
TopherMcGinnis Posted Thursday at 12:54 AM Posted Thursday at 12:54 AM Jay has nice wheels. I'm almost certain I've made one of his house payments LOL! As far as the interior goes, smooth fiberglass door, dash and headliner panels with upholstered inserts might look good with your overall vibe. 2

I love the quality and how quickly he got it out also! Already have a few other wheels saved for future builds lol. I've been thinking of smooth door panels or at least smoothing out the factory look and making my own panels to add onto them. Maybe whatever I do with the door panels could get implemented into the headliner as well. Part of me keeps eyeing the thought of a newer style interior like the 99 Silverado perhaps but with a lot smoothness added to it. 1
Lemcoplasticworks Posted yesterday at 03:48 AM Author Posted yesterday at 03:48 AM She's far from perfect but shaping out quite nicely! 4
