Hasegawa Site?

There is a site, "hasegawamodel.com" that has many items at about 1/2 price. The header has the Hasegawa logo, with "Model Kits" right beneath. 

Anyone knbow if this is a scam site, or legitimate?

I did an internet search and that site did not come up.  This one did come up in the search, and it may be Hasegawa's site:  http://www.hasegawa-model.co.jp/gsite/ , but it looks like you cannot buy their models from this site.  I know this is not much help but I would tread very lightly about buying a kit from the website you found.

"About Us" can be written by anyone, saying anything. I doubt that those intent on ripping people off would indicate that as their intent.

I vote scam. There is no phone number for this business that I could find, and the address given is that of the Maxwell Air Force Base Commissary in Montgomery Alabama.

Now THAT is helpful. I didn't see an address, as I was on my phone, with old eyes. 

I fugured it was too good to be legit, but, if anyone had had good luck, it would have been worth a go.

According to Hasegawa's website, there are three North American distributors:

［U.S.A.］ Stevens International
［CANADA / U.S.A.］ Lightspeed Global Inc.
［U.S.A.］ Douglas Models Distributors

Hasegawa does not sell product to the end consumer, only through their distributors.

Maybe an enterprising airman is smuggling in kits through Okinawa on USAF aircraft and is selling them under the table at the commissary? (could happen....)

I have never known of a major mainstream  kit manufacturer EVER selling individual kits  direct to the public !

I did once place an order for several Rolls-Royce kits directly from Minicraft in Illinois, USA, and they were shipped to the UK . . . This was 7 years ago.

( no, I don't mean that I placed the order 7 years ago, and they were shipped to me but haven't arrived yet, but that is how it reads, sorry )

I did receive those kits.
