Falcon Ranchero Posted September 26 Posted September 26 Finally built my first Jo-Han kit, the 1972 issue Police emergency wagon 1960 Plymouth. Obviously I didn't make the police wagon out of it, but rather just a stock Suburban wagon. Though the original owner had plans to build a drag wagon because there were big drag slicks and rims in the box, plus some "Goodyear" and "Plymouth" decals from the '70 Superbird kit, and a different fan belt and one Moroso valve cover. However they only got as far as painting and gluing together the engine halves. This was one of my grail kits, basically the only one on that list that I've got a hold of (though my '59 Lincoln is nice to have too). Very pleased with how it turned out, especially the chrome work; I had to just paint silver instead of doing the foil technique which I know many of you use because of its more chrome-like appearence. But I'm not dissapointed at all with my work just painting it on. I took photos of the model within the wagon pages of my '60 Plymouth sales brochure so it's like it's popping right out of the pages. Gave it whitewalls from my '59 Imperial kit. Overall just very pleased to have this in the collection. 16

Thanks; I actually found that plate in a gully on my grandparents property as it had been on the rear bumper of my grandma's father's 1953 Chevy 210 (which is down the gully too) and so I just re-painted it and had stickers made of it. It's a 1962 plate, kinda hard to see in the photos.
espo Posted September 26 Posted September 26 Beautiful looking paint colors and finish, stylish two-tone treatment. Like how you detailed the grill and headlights so that the headlights look like they have lenses. 1

Bainford Posted Monday at 05:26 PM Posted Monday at 05:26 PM The big Plymouth is looking really good, Nathan. Nice clean work. 1
Ulf Posted Monday at 05:40 PM Posted Monday at 05:40 PM Very nice build, good job. Admit that you now understand and respect the fascination with Jo-Han ? Despite its relative simplicity, the form is perfect. The silver look great. 1
