3d printed kit purchased from Wall 2 Wall Hobbies in August at the Model Car Builders show in Winston Salem, NC.

No engine,  engine bay, exhuast or gas tank.  Had a previously built 69 Cougar with a severely warped roof that I had purchased sometime years back that the engine bay was a separate part from the body,  the rest is parts box donations.

Krylon Colormaxx Emerald Green.

Inspired from thread photos (Any Updates On The Moebius 72 Maverick) 351/429 production prototypes in the Car Kit News & Review Section..

In looking at the car, a cool build that would have been running around the street in the day. In looking at the hood it seems the corners don't fit right. Did you have fitment issues with the hood or is it just the way I'm seeing it?  I have built two 3D Buick Skylarks and had the same hood fit issues. There is a Javelin build in the in progress forum-same hood fit issues. Is this something in the printing process?  I'm not familiar enough with how it works.

All the taping , hand holding,  the eye balling and countless dry runs of assembly and fitment......it drives me crazy.  Bad enough that I have felt fairly confident to spray paint and assemble but that small fitment issue pops up.

I remember one build that I was overjoyed knowing that it was going together be one of my overall best.  One small fitment issue create another. I handle the body so much that I had rubbed off/ thinned paint on some edges and others areas the skin oil from handling allow the paint to smudge.  The 2nd paint job never came close....

It happens....

I can strive to do better on my next project.  I do pride myself that I took an vision and enhance it for others to share and enjoy.

I still joke that I'm "stealing intellectual modeling techniques and ideas".

To answer your original question ( yes I do ramble on.....), very little if none with this printing. However the Pontiac Can Am was the most "needy of attention and work" of the three 3d kits so far...

Great looking paint color and finish. I have always thought the Mercury version of the Maverick looked even better. like the engine detailing and the period Ansen style wheels.

I feel your pain. I spent more time in both Skylark builds on the hoods than the rest of the builds! And they still don't fit right. In my latest build I thought I had it fixed so I painted the car and it STILL does not fit right. I hope you did not take the comment as a slight on the build because it wasn't. I remember guys having Mavericks in the day ( the Ford version) but they were 302 cars if I remember right. Cool little cars fixed up and your build, as I said, could have been on the street then.
