I just finished an old project of mine, my 1996 Chevy Impala SS pro street with a full interior and cage.

It was originally intended to be a tribute to the Blackout SS ornes and driven by Bostic, Anders Envall. Bostic is a Swedish car magazine guru, a bit as Friburger in the US, and wrote this on his site many moons ago “Home of the Quickest, Fastest and Heaviest Street driven Impala SS on the Planet!” www.blackout.nu. This really interested me as a kid and i can finaly honor my promise.

Bostic is a lovely guy and when I contacted him back then he even sent me a t-shirt with the Blackout SS on, and I promised to send a picture back when the impala was done.. problem was it never got done. It snowballed for my 13-year-old self, with brass cage and front sub frame, and since I had no god solder it was a mission impossible, custom rear end that did not work, so it got cut away and a C5 corvette rear end was being mocked up in there.. so you can bet the original chassis was a mess and well beyond saving. The interior got a center console and planned to have a floor shifter as the ‘96 cars have. Seats was thrown out and a set of supra seats was supposed to sit in their place.
Some body mods were also made, boot was opened and started to build the interior, allot trims was removed, and front bumper got openings more like the Bostic Impala and a different shape.

I built it with a full chassis from A monogram stock car with mods to accept the wide and long Impala boddy and the super wide tires I wanted to run. I managed to keep the interior mostly stock but the rear seat got moved forward a bit to give the low stance.

3d printed engine and tires and manny other parts.

Very nice - a lot of work has gone into this!  I’m imaging what a thrill it would have been to drive the real car.

Beautiful paint work and extensive detailing inside and out. You should, if you haven't already, send pictures to the builder of the 1:1 and explain why it took so long to get this done. I'm sure he would appreciate the story and the pictures.

I have to say, you really got this looking perfect to my eye. The stance, the undercarriage all look like a real car should and not toy like. Great job.

Thanks allot! It did take allot of effort to make it look that way especially with the kit being a snap kit to start with and the lights gave me a challenge that I think I managed to sort out. And thoughts have gone in al details to get it just right so to say. :)

Cool, Bostic is truly a hero, a fun and fast hero. Now maybe you're ready to tackle the legendary Wiplash Camaron?

The Wiplash has an intricate paint job that makes you think its older brother, the SAAB designer, had a hand in the design.

That’s for sure!
Haha na, I only build tributes and that era of styling on cars are not my cup of tea. Would box it after a day I guess 😂

I sent the pictures to Bostic and he was stoked to se the result!

And he had a picture from my initial build and also the old comment.

Great job! It's one mean looking machine. It's always cool to see a long term project finally finished.

Engine is very reminiscent of an NRE with Alien intake. I remember these new. While a bit large for my liking I always had a soft spot for a quick one..in my area there were several.

Nicely done.

I always liked these cars done in the Pro Street look. You have done a great job representing this look!

I bet it was a lot of fun building that exhaust around the rear diff. Kudos to you for taking the exhaust all the way out the back

Thanks! Yes it’s a bit similar, can’t remember what manufacturer it was on that intake, found a model on grabcad that I modified for scale model printing and added Al the injectors and stuff. Turbo layout was made by me to have space in the bay and fill it out nicely. :) and I wanted to display the turbo’s which the available nre kit doesn’t.
thanks for your comment :)

Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it! Hehe I was thinking of leaving it in front of the axle but that’s not legal here. But it actually went okay, tried to keep the bends much what you would se on a 1:1, big bends are not possible, and I did put in magnets in several places to keep it in place while fabricating it, which helped allot.

That's alot of detail and it was worth the effort as it looks great. Really well done Anton.

Thanks Harry! I liked doing all the small details, and the exhaust hangers did allot in my opinion :)
