Monty Posted Sunday at 03:04 PM Posted Sunday at 03:04 PM I make a lot of memes but sometimes finding the right background picture is tough, so I was wondering how hard it would be to create my own. I’m looking for something pretty basic as I, umm, inhale vigorously at tech stuff. Basically I just want to be able to ask it to creat an image like: ”Make a castle out of emeralds” and voila! Doable?
Tim W. SoCal Posted Sunday at 05:00 PM Posted Sunday at 05:00 PM Is there a free meme generator that you guys would recommend?

Rodent Posted Sunday at 06:34 PM Posted Sunday at 06:34 PM Microsoft Copilot. You can be more specific, ask for changes, etc. 1
Big Messer Posted Sunday at 07:04 PM Posted Sunday at 07:04 PM Why messing with AI when there is so much natural stupidity around?

Rob Hall Posted Sunday at 07:31 PM Posted Sunday at 07:31 PM I’ve been playing around with Copilot and Gemini AI at work, we have a corporate initiative to use it on all new projects, so far I’m skeptical but I’m learning how to use it. 1

You could also paste in a picture of the type castle you want and ask it to make it out of emeralds. This attempt looks more like "Sassy Grass Green" to me, but further commands would fine tune it.
Ace-Garageguy Posted Monday at 12:34 AM Posted Monday at 12:34 AM Make a castle out of Kermit the Frogs. 1

It also wouldn't let me include Japanese Zeros divebombing Diamond Head in a fantasy Waikiki cartoon that I created with us on the beach. Here is a generic frog castle with a Ms. Porky looking on in approval. 2
Rodent Posted Monday at 03:45 AM Posted Monday at 03:45 AM Of course, Copilot can be very dimwitted. I posted a movie poster in one of Nathan's threads a few days ago that took me a lot of "re-asking" to get what I wanted. This is one of their stock photos. I gave it an older pic of me and asked it to put me on the porch. Fail, except this guy looks hotter than me 😞 Fail here, now I am in the street. Don't let AI drive cars. Perhaps they can't drive a manual transmission. Or maybe they drink heavily? OK, try again. Shelby is still parked in the yard and I am balding a bit and further in the street. OK, now I have a dog. It keeps making me fatter and balder, and further into the street. Shelby is still parked in the yard. 2

bobss396 Posted Monday at 12:17 PM Posted Monday at 12:17 PM Instagram is loaded with AI memes that are positively lit. Some list the AI generator that was used.
iamsuperdan Posted Monday at 03:27 PM Posted Monday at 03:27 PM I've played with the AI generators like Google Gemini and ChatGPT. Some things it's pretty good at, others...VERY questionable results. Want to see what your car looks like in a different colour? Easy. I've been toying with making our XC90 look like an R model. So I asked Google Gemini to change the colour to Cream Yellow like a T5R, and change the wheels to the dark grey Volvo used. Turned out pretty good. I asked ChatGpt to turn a Ram truck into a RatFink style truck. Interesting results. Make a Ram truck look like it was in Back To The Future. Make this car white with wheels and mirrors painted in Porsche Riviera Blue. Not bad.
Ace-Garageguy Posted Monday at 03:34 PM Posted Monday at 03:34 PM (edited) Yup. AI's a pretty neat toy...and that's about it at the current level of development. EDIT: When used by capable artists as an adjunct to human emotional drive, AI can augment the creation of absolutely breathtaking visual images and composition of deeply evocative music, in spite of many human 'creators' calling it "AI slop". iamsuperdan Posted Monday at 05:10 PM Posted Monday at 05:10 PM Of course, one can get carried away things. Well that was disappointing. Time to end this. 2
