Clay Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 As soon as I get a shelf for all of them, I will take more pictures. As of right now they are sitting in a 50 gallon tote with makeshift shelves made out of memory foam.
Dingo Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 (edited) I'm not into Transformers either, but I don't mind looking at them they are interesting toys??. My other hobbies include star gazing, pistol shooting & being a scout leader. Combining 2 hobbies in the one photo the telescope for star gazing & my scouting. Dingo Edited May 29, 2009 by Dingo
FujimiLover Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Other hobbies, RC Helicopters Nice collection of helicopters there! I'm also into RC electric helicopters, but I'm more into scale-flying. I'm a big fan of Airwolf and I have a few small Airwolf toy's and one Align Trex 450 XL with an Airwolf fuselage on it. I think I posted it elsewhere in this forum.
Joe Handley Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I'm into RC's big time and have a small fleet of them, especially Rock Crawling (can be tough to do here in the Chicago burbs, not too many rocks......) and just got my newest comp rig in today!

vizio93 Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 hey that's a nice crawler! i prefer the ones that are nitro powered and go faster. the electric one's are just about maintaince-free, but there is nothin like the smell of buring nitro-methane . you can tell when you need to quit playin with it when you get a headache and your eyes feel like there burning
Chuck Most Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 They just reissued the old Optimus Prime toy from the late '80's- I had one back in the day. I'm thinking of getting a new one! It'll look sweet next to my Kill Bill action figures!

Then if you're crawling, you actually have torque when you need it, not when the powerplant gets around to it and the clutch opens up;)

Modellpularn Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 (edited) I build and race 1/24 slot cars. My latest was the '67 Camaro, and a Matich Can Am. I've built a number of Rusty Wallace cars; Ford and Dodge, when we had our NASCAR series at the slot club. We've been to Germany and raced. I came in 2nd place in 2004, with a DW '88 Monte Carlo. I raced slot drag cars about 10 years ago. We ran out of a place to have the strip, so it kind of faded out. Still have the cars. I also have a '72 El Camino that last year got the seat reupholstered, and installed new door panels. Still to come is the Monte Carlo dash with tach and gauge conversion, a new stereo system with CD changer. Bought lots of stuff from OPG. So I have my work cut out for me.... The engine needs to come out also. No end to it.... Edited May 30, 2009 by Modellpularn
E St. Kruiser50 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Well sorry to tell all you guy's this, but there is only "ONE HOBBY", ALL ELSE BEING MERELY A DIVERSION from the only TRUE HOBBY - MODEL CAR BUILDING . GET IT RIGHT - dave
Foxer Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 (edited) I need other things to fill the time when I NEED to break from the workbench in the basement ... like when I'm stuck or procrastinating. So it's been photography all my life and that's been flourishing in this digital age. I created 3D meshes for quite a time through the 90's when 3D Studio was released. I have friends that create 3D art using a program called Poser that has posable 3D human figures and, while I made my own attempts at creating "art", I mostly supported others by making 3D objects and textures for their REAL ART. I'm a fanatic for collecting 3D car meshes and probably have well over 600 different car meshes. I'm still looking for a '49 Merc!! This is not unlike scale modeling as most need work texturing and adjusting detail in 3D. Just to tease, here's a few of my recent 3D acquisitions ... I would love scale models of some these ... Toyota Corolla (2008) Subaru B11S, Toyota Prius Honda Insight (1999) Audi A4 Avant 3.2 Quattro (2005) Audi RSQ Concept Bentley Continental GT Coupe Citroen 15CV (1950) Infinity Triant, Koenigsegg CCX Lancia Aurelia B24 Spider (1955) Lotus Elise Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR (1998) Opel Speedster Plymouth Reliant (1985) hahaha .. to explain this, my daughter had one Schwimmwagen I've been playing Everquest online for over 8 years. My fascination with 3D worlds began with the Ultima series where the world was created first and then a game written around it. Wandering around a 3D world and discovering it's nooks and crannies secreted away satisfies my sense of adventure. and I DO enjoy the fresh air!!!!! Edited May 30, 2009 by Foxer
roadhawg Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Well, I been looking at my paycheck, and I think my JOB has become another expensive hobby.
vizio93 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Well, I been looking at my paycheck, and I think my JOB has become another expensive hobby. i couldn't agree with ya more
FujimiLover Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I wish I could find one of those hobby/job's. For you RC car guy's, you need to look into Kyosho's amazing 1/43 scale Dnano cars. Expensive, but very much worth it. Their plastic bodies have as much detail as die-cast cars, and the chassis is very raceable and very high tech. I've mentioned this in other threads, but you RC folks really need to check'em out. They have some pretty sweet bodies out available for theme.
