bh1701 Posted October 29 Posted October 29 I have tried to create a new post several times. When I hit SUBMIT, I get taken to an error screen saying that the content couldn't be found. Is there a current issue affecting the submission of new posts? Bart

Bart So, I was able to create this post - so it seems to work at least in this section of the site. The post I am trying to create is in the Under Glass section. I create the title, body text, and add some photos. When I hit SUBMIT there, I get the message. I am going to try again now. Bart
bh1701 Posted October 29 Author Posted October 29 Just tried again in the Under Glass > Model Cars section. Still get taken to a screen that says " Oops! That page can’t be found. It looks like nothing was found at this location. Maybe try a search? I tried dragging a photo into the post (instead of selecting them), and still did not work. Bart

Bart theres a few words that cause posts to rejected. Dave lists them in this thread
bh1701 Posted October 29 Author Posted October 29 So, everything seems to work fine in this section of the site. But in the Under Glass > Model Cars section, I still get the error shown above. I have restarted my PC, and have logged out of the site. Still no success posting to that section of the site. Anybody have any ideas on what's causing this and how to resolve it? Bart

bh1701 Posted October 29 Author Posted October 29 Success! My post was accepted this time. I just rewrote the text and the title and it was accepted. Thanks for all of the quick replies! Bart 1
Anglia105E Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Pleased to hear that your issue was resolved Bart . . . Nice to see helpful comments from Les Budge ( stitchdup ) and a link to my previous issue which was very similar to yours Bart . . . Bart Yup, I've had that happen more times than I can count. It's one of the reasons I rarely upload any build content anymore. I hate...HATE...having my time wasted trying to find some obscure word that isn't in my text anyway. Edited October 29 by Ace-Garageguy
Xingu Posted October 29 Posted October 29 From our (the board) perspective, those words have apparently been used by hackers and spammers to somehow wreak havoc on the internet. We use a little stronger security than other sites to keep our members and their content safe. It can be inconvenient at times, but the alternative could be considerably worse.

The thing is...I've had posts rejected repeatedly that contained NONE of the naughty words. "Inconvenient"? How 'bout I just don't bother any more with information- and photo-heavy posts if they're rejected once? Edited October 29 by Ace-Garageguy
peteski Posted October 30 Posted October 30 I find it really strange that any commercial software (like the one running this forum) would be vulnerable to hacks using some database control commands typed into a post. That is just so nutty. Today's software is so poorly written, it isn't funny. 1
Xingu Posted October 30 Posted October 30 There may be other words that trigger the error. This is a server security setting not in the board software.

I guess then my point is that wherever this "protection" occurs, it is a piss-poor way to dealing with the problem. Any app or server which stores member's text messages should accept any English words. My comment is not directed at you - just at the state of of today's computer software.
