Bill_B Posted November 25 Posted November 25 I'm a super slow builder and completing a model is a huge accomplishment. Here is one I was able to finish this year. Pretty much box stock aside from the wheel/tire package and some flocking (does flocking count or does this fall more under the "paint/finishes" category? 🤔). Also, this was a test subject for the rust on the exhaust system using steel wool and vinegar. I will be using this technic more in the future to see what all I can accomplish with it. 23 1
Shark Posted November 26 Posted November 26 Looks like you dropped it down a little also. Clean build. Explain what you did with the steel wool and vinegar, haven't heard that one before. 1
Trainwreck Posted November 26 Posted November 26 Kudos for the weathering on the bottom end, really nice build. 1
stavanzer Posted November 26 Posted November 26 Excellent Build. The interior detailing is very sharp, and cleanly done! The Bronze Finish is smooth and professional, as well as working very well on that Ford! The Rust looks good. Only Two quibbles. 1. If the exhaust is that rusty, I'd expect the rest of the chassis might show a touch of Rust too. 2. You might think about sanding the tread on the tires a little bit, to show some wear. Overall, 9/10 Score. Good Show. 2
espo Posted November 26 Posted November 26 Great looking paint color and finish. Like the interior finishes. 1
Horrorshow Posted November 26 Posted November 26 Excellent work, really dig your wheels and tire choice. 1
bh1701 Posted November 26 Posted November 26 Great looking model. The exterior color looks good, and the interior is even better! Bart 1
BKF Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Very nice paint and detailed build and love the wheels! I've used the steel wool and vinegar solution for staining wood long ago. 1
lucky 130 Posted November 27 Posted November 27 In 65' didn't ford still use black engine blocks? Mine had a black block. just asking Very clean build. 1
Chuck Mols Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Great color and stance. The interior is nicely done for sure. Keep up the good work. 1

Explain what you did with the steel wool and vinegar, haven't heard that one before. I keep I small piece of fine steel wool in a little cup with vin-i-ger. The vinegar rusts the steel wool and makes a solution then just brush it on. Like I said this is my first time using this method so I'm sure there'll be tweaks and what not. I let is dry up when I'm done with it and when I go to use it again, I just add a little vinegar back to the cup and carry on. 20 hours ago, lucky 130 said: In 65' didn't ford still use black engine blocks? Thanks everyone for the comments and interest. Hope everyone had/is having a nice holiday weekend.
Shark Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Thanks for the reply concerning the vinegar rusting technique. As far as engine colors, I can't stand a black engine. On my real vehicles, if one comes out, it gets painted a lighter color. That way I can see it there are any leaks or anything. 1
XYHARRY Posted Tuesday at 10:21 AM Posted Tuesday at 10:21 AM Nice Galaxie, especially the interior and matching colour combo. Wheels and stance finishes it off perfectly. Well done Bill. 1
Zippi Posted Tuesday at 12:53 PM Posted Tuesday at 12:53 PM Nice looking build there William. Great looking interior and the little trick with the steel wool and vinegar is pretty kewl. 1
