This is a kit bash between left over KW925 (from my last build) and the Malone race truck. I am very hung up waiting for parts on my C500 so grabbed the Malone hood which is very long and will use the twin turbo V12 from the Malone kit and a bunch of left over parts from my boxes of old kits. I cut the spoiler off the Malone hood. Fitted the W925 grill which actually fits better. Sanded of the little fender flares and added some KW flares. Using the short frame I had already built for my last project, just gotta find a wheelset to use. The quick vision is a heavy hauler with a monster motor and a fairly simple quick build. Kinda fun just throwing cr…..p together. IMG_3168.jpeg.2a129fdd5e5e5771711a4655f2b9a543.jpegIMG_3167.jpeg.812598db8b19e7384c6f4b17c1580eb2.jpegIMG_3165.jpeg.04538e90a1f301b1b4aec57c2f57f678.jpegIMG_3169.jpeg.ee03e5f8db2979e104bbcf124dcca804.jpeg

Malone race truck?  I have two unbuilt Euro race trucks, the Revell Mercedes 1450 LS and Unimog U 1300L Paris-Dakar.  So of course I have to watch this build!  Nice to have the wider tires.

Never built a race truck per se, although love to see those builds. I will add some performance goodies, one being an air to air intercooler for the turbos, just got to figure out how to do it.

Tip for you guys. The window glass for the Watkins Kenworth 925 is really bad (fit and finish) but the window glass in the Malone race truck is a one piece and fits extremely well in the Watkins Kenworth ( it’s in now but is super clear). The hood scoop is bugging me but for this build it stays ( just can’t sand it off). I thought briefly about removing the square headlights and cutting the round headlights from the short hood but now willing to put that work in this build. I may do this build again making some of those modifications with a frame stretch and air lift third rear axle (a more true heavy hauler). Getting ready to see how the motor fits. So far it’s been a pretty cool kit bash.

The V12 and the straight six and similar in length so my first stab at locating this engine is aligning the bell housing tabs. I am using the manual transmission from Watkins Kenworth, may use the second transmission as well, still open on that one.

Hey Gary

The set-up in the AMT Kenworth W925 is a twin stick. It is a 5 spd. Main box and a 4 spd. brownie (auxiliary),so you pretty much would have to use the second one too.

This is the setup I'm using on my build for Jeff.

Thanks Ron, that’s kinda what I thought. Nice to have input.

Be fun to drive two sticks again. 20 forward speeds and four reverse. Cool old stuff.  This would be great in real life to have that much power and two sticks.

I like where this is going.  Cool build Gary
