Scott H. Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 One of the best quotes about a SAAB I ever heard comes from the movie "Crazy People" with Darryl Hannah and Dudley Moore... "They're not supposed to start EVERY time..." -Scott H.
Nick F40 Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 So it looks GM has sold off or gave back all their boat anchors. SAAB > Koenigsegg Sweden Hummer > ??? China Opel > Opel Germany Saturn > Penske US? Pontiac > OB Yeah, I just read about that, surprising and cool. Auto Week had a thing. All those are at least good! the only good SAAB ever was that Japanese one anyway Dave Yeah the Saabaru and the 96's!!!
Modelmartin Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 I had a few Saabs a number of years ago and really liked them. One was a 95 with the Ford V4 in it. It is one of the few cars I have owned(50+) in my life that I would want another one. It was reliable and fun. I had 2 different 99s and they were great but I burned valves in one and the other had FI problems from the Bosch Mechanical system. I like the cars though. They were comfy, handled well and they could go anywhere in the snow ! It will be fascinating to see what Koenigsegg will do with them seeing as how their specialty is over the top performance.
Jeff Johnston Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 I had a few Saabs a number of years ago and really liked them. Me too. I bought a 97' 900S new, and I loved it. Had 2 kids and it got too small... Today I have a 2005 9-3 turbbo and I absolutely love it. It's was quicker than my 97 and it handles nice. It also gets 35 MPG highway....and that's in a car thats not a dog at all. I had a chevy mechanic temm me once that at 95K miles, you'd cut yout finger if yo ran it across the rings on a chevy...but on a saab it'd be as smooth as glass. JJ
Rob Hall Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Maybe they can come up with a deal to pair SAAB dealers w/ IKEA stores..would be interesting to see SAABs at my local IKEA. My only experiences with SAABs was back in the '90s, my sister had a '92 900 Turbo for a few years, had a variety of problems, neat car, though.

Same here, should be real interesting I had a chevy mechanic temm me once that at 95K miles, you'd cut yout finger if yo ran it across the rings on a chevy...but on a saab it'd be as smooth as glass. JJ I didn't think Chevy rings stayed in one piece that long?
