Fella's, I changed over from Comcast today,to WOW, And now, when i try to use any option on the forum, I hafta wait AT LEAST 15/25 sec. before anything happens. This morning before I got it changed over, it was maybe 5 sec.at the most!.Now, I get on the forum, go to a topic, click on that topic, an BANG! now the INTERNET tells me it CAN'T find the page!Or somethin stupid like "Oooops This page MAY be broken", One of the guys mentioned a firewall? or something, when I couldn't get on the Drag City website. Could it be something like that? I have NO idea of what I'm doin, an a little help would REALLY be appericiated!

George, it may be your browser. Try downloading Firefox. I know it made a big difference on my old computer until it bit the dust.

dude, monzilla firefox is full of viruses!!!!!!!!!!!!!

STOP spreading that information, What is your proof?

Only time I ever got a virus with firefox is by my own stupidity. It is much safer out of the box for the general user than internet explorer. Ive been using firefox for around 8 years.

Just by downloading firefox, you arent gonna get viruses installed from mozilla.... seriously.

I've been a user of Mozilla Firefox since 2004 and have NEVER gotten a virus from them!

I've found it MUCH more user friendly than Internet Explorer in a lot of ways. Interestingly, Microsoft saw fit to make their new Internet Explorer 8 even more like Firefox..................tabbed browsing, navigation searches and all. ;)

Well, then consider Mozilla Firefox. Monzilla Firefox is awful. Mozilla is nearly perfect.

Thank you, tip your waitresses, and try the veal.

Firefox rocks...I've used it probably for 5 years or more now. The newest version improves the performance over the previous version (it could get slow with a lot of tabs open).

I've been using Chrome alot since it first came out, though...I really like it, moreso than Firefox overall, though I still use Firefox when on my Mac.

Probably an IP address (internet protocol address, what the hostname maps to).

This site is a little slower than most George...............so it's not just you.

Not that it's a big deal, but when I first click on my bookmarks for here, it seems to take about 5 seconds or so to load up. In contrast, a graphics heavy page such as eBay, it loads instantly.

Now I'm typing this from my laptop, which has 3GB of RAM and a very zippy CPU..............my desktop is the same setup as they both run Vista, and the forum has a lag time on both.

I'm on DSL BTW, and I have 3 MBPS per second speed on the line............which is cable territory (or better in some areas).

Oy! Calm down my man! :P

We're only stating what we have experienced! In all the time I've run Mozilla, I've never had a computer crash! I've had AOL (Almost On Line) crash my system once, but that had nothing to do with Mozilla.

I don't have the high credentials that your relatives have, but I know more than the average bear when it comes to software, and I'm telling you with me-------Mozilla has caused me MUCH less trouble than Bill Gates' Internet Explorer.

George, they would be under "Bookmarks" at the top of the screen------that's what Firefox calls 'em. One thing she might want to do is export her bookmarks to a folder somewhere in Windows Explorer. That way if she ever gets another 'puter, she could simply take a thumb drive, drag and drop her folder right into it and then import it into her new computer.

Yet language is still in post?

Shall I lay down the harsh hand of Buddha?

Wait, that's a contradiction of terms, of sort...

Just keep it clean, don't get around the rules by putting periods.

That will just aim to tee me off.

And George, yah know I luv yah!
