Pete J. Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Yea! I got one of the tough ones! The give away go me was the clear coat over the side badge and there are a couple of small covers for clips on the front bumper covere missing. Other than that it is a great model. Harry - who makes the kit?

The give away go me was the clear coat over the side badge and there are a couple of small covers for clips on the front bumper covere missing. Other than that it is a great model. Harry - who makes the kit? It's not a kit, it's handmade/scratchbuilt. They make patterns (masters) for all the parts and then they're cast, either in resin (bodies, interiors), white metal (chassis, engines, suspensions, small details) or rubber (tires). Everything is then painted/polished and assembled. The models are totally scratchbuilt from the ground up... no "kit" parts of any kind are used.
Zoom Zoom Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 I think if Harry had used the side view it would have been even more of a landslide for "real"...but I knew this one as soon as I saw it. 'Cause I knew where the other one came from

Zoom Zoom Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Here's a picture of last week's model posed beside the real car:
FujimiLover Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 WOW, good one Harry. The right/hand job fooled us all I think even though I never noticed what side wheel was on first time I looked at it. LOL! Can't wait for next weeks! This is fun, even if I get it wrong!

Pete J. Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 You think that's impressive? You should see their prices!!! I know you don't want to give away your source, but do they have a web site?
Harry P. Posted August 29, 2009 Author Posted August 29, 2009 Yes, they have a web site. And you're right... I don't want to give away my source.
Joe Handley Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 You think that's impressive? You should see their prices!!! Must be awful proud of their work then!
Harry P. Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 I always get a laugh out of the people who vote long after I already gave the answer. So far we have 2 votes after the answer was already given... but the best part is, one of them was WRONG!!!
