CarModDave Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 This was one of 3 curbside/slammers I finished in the week leading up to the contest held by the MAGS group at the Tampa NSRA Southeast Nats show last weekend (Oct. 10-11). The first builds I have completed in about 11 months. This was the first completed of the three, so I'll start with it. The resin Flintstone/Testors kit was used along with the rolling stock from the Alternomad Caprice wagon kit. The true fire was added on top of a black base using all HoK auto paints and the wood trim was dry brushed. Not much to these kits but they are great to practice painting on.

CarModDave Posted October 19, 2009 Author Posted October 19, 2009 Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words! what airbrush did you use? Jose - The airbrush I use for finer details is an Iwata "HiLine" HP-CH. It has a MAC air valve just before the tip so I can regulate air flow easier.
Peter Lombardo Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Great job.....just beautiful work. You really get how the "True Fire" flame should look. NICE!!

The tires/wheels are simply the ones from the Alternomad Caprice wagon kit with the center spoked painted using Tamiya gun metal. I kind of like the darker look myself intead of all chromed..
