Time flyes to fast...and I am getting slower B)

My next project, between projects.

this ROUSH RACER, MUSTANG GT.

I got this kit from a swamp meet 10 years ago and yesterday

I WENT IN THE CLOSET AND GOT IT OUT.

Will like to buil it like this picture I took in Sebring few years back at a HSR event

Picture127Small-3.jpg

lets get started.

1 the front hood is all one piece and not a tree like the kit shows, got to get rid of groves.

2 the wheels I sanded the back and separated the spoke part, for a more real look.

3 the spoiler, I open the air holes for the brake vents.

Great job on the wheels! I'm building the Hot Wheels Camaro, which is basically the same kit with a Camaro body, as a club project. Pretty nice kit. Keeps us posted on this one!

Funny thing is I'm just now finishing up on a BHP resin Mustang TransAm transkit and I'm using the Whistler Mustang as the donor.

Good start on the kit. If you're looking for a set of rims like you have in the picture of the actual car, BHP makes a set. Here's a picture of mine put together. And also if you need an extra set of decals, I have an extra set for the Whistler car.

Awesome! I have the #25 version of that kit, along with a couple of the IMSA ones that used the same basic tooling. I have a Penngwen resin Merkur body waiting to be built with a Camaro donor chassis, as well as a resin IMSA Cougar body that needs some repairs made before it can get built.

Sigh, if only I had the ability to do them right.

www.stradasports.com and I think www.mshobbies.com has those wheels. Definitely get them as they will improve the look of the model.

Sorry for the late reply. Strada Sports sells the wheel and disc brakes for $15. Here's the link to the web site.

They are worth the money. Just take the time cleaning the resin as they can be a little fragile. You use the stock wheels that come with the kit, but you have to open up the middle to make the new rims fit.

To let you know, you're going to have to modify the front axle and the rear axle to make the brakes and rim fit. Here's a picture of what I did to mine. But you might have to trim it down a little more because the plastic kit is, I believe, narrower than the resin transkit.

Looking really good. With the rims, take your time on cleaning them up. As there is a lot of flash on them. Took me about a day and a half to clean mine. Let us know when you start getting on the decals. And if you have any problems with the decals, I have a second sheet if you need them.

started cleaning the extra resin on the wheels

and try them for size. I need to reduce the inside

of the rim to make them more inward in the body.

don't like that dirt track look.

thanks for sugesting this rims...will never go back

to the stocks again.

Looking good. How long did it take to clean out the rims? When I did mine, it took 3+ hours to do all four. But once they're cleaned up and have paint on them, they look good.

I'm trying to talk BHP into making a Corvette Trans Am. Either that or the Mangousta (sp) :D .

Looking VERY good! Your build is going to force me to dig the Ford Motorsports ZakSpeed powered racer I have stashed in the closet out and build it (as if I don't have enough unfinished buils as it is!).
