bobss396 Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 (edited) If the pictures show up, these are some of my '37 Chevy modified from LIARS member Andy Behrens Fotki site. Bob Edited December 3, 2009 by bobss396
Guest promodmerc Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 NASCAR??? Where else can he put it Harry? There isn't a short track category Or is it because he built something different? Bob that us right up my alley. Short track dirt & asphalt cars are what got me back in the hobby about a year & a half ago.
Harry P. Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Where else can he put it Harry? There isn't a short track category Under Glass.
Guest promodmerc Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Under Glass. Us poor short track builders are so use to being the red headed step child and put in NASCAR or open wheel categories at shows we tend to migrate to the NASCAR section here. We'd be quite happy if Greg added a section for us
bobss396 Posted December 4, 2009 Author Posted December 4, 2009 Bob, that thing is nice! very cool build! did you shorten the asphalt modified chassis? i really like the oil cooler too Dave Thanks. The chassis was shortened a scale 8" between the engine and firewall. The oil cooler was cut off sn old NASCAR kit radiator. To those less "enlightened", it is in fact a NASCAR modified. Bob
Guest old man Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 (edited) I LIKE OLD ASPHALT CAR'S THEY ARE JUST COOL SUPER NICE BUILD Edited July 1, 2010 by old man

Nascar is a sanctioning body, it does not mean that the "cup" cars are the only NASCAR race cars out there.
bsoder Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 That is one nice little modified!..the only little nit I'd have is the "shiny" look of the tires
Pete L. Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 (edited) Super Job... Love the radiator ducting, hood pins, and wheels!!! Edited July 21, 2010 by Pete L.
Slim Louis Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 I love it, surprized no one has said anything about all the short track builds I posted here. Really need a section of their own, I feel. But you can justify this build, NASCAR did have a division for these asphalt modifieds, back then! Honestly!
bbowser Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Great build! The modifieds are awesome at NH, they have to put restrictor plates on them. Twice the tire, half the weight with the same basic engine as a Cup car. No wonder they fly!
Bernard Kron Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Super nice indeed. Crisp & clean. I always enjoy these short trackers and check in on them regularly when they pop up. ...surprized no one has said anything about all the short track builds I posted here.... Slim, I always look for your stuff, whether it's here or on the H.A.MB.! Regarding categories, I'll take the other side and say that everything should simply be "Under Glass" rather than getting lost in some particular sub-category/sub-culture. In my opinion the "other magazine's" website has been destroyed by too many style-specific categories in which to post your builds, along with absolutely no general category like Under Glass, forcing the builder to choose a category each time, or multi-post across overlapping ones (even worse).
FordRodnKustom Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Great looking vintage Mod! Definately has "the look".
Dr. Cranky Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Wonderful model, great details . . . congrats.
ericj Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 NASCAR sanctioned our local dirt track for 20 plus years and they ran everything from 4 cyl cars up to late models. So technically anythng you want to build could be put under the NASCAR category. Either way nice build!
eviltwincustoms Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I was going to say there are a few NASCAR drivers that actually drive short track, so I don't see any concern with it posted here.
rmvw guy Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Love these type of cars! Would like to see more. Beautiful job!
weasel Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 nicely done... i'm working on a narrowed Vega modified, #3, in a what if he grew up a couple states north kinda thing, pavement car, big/wide 'steamroller' tires...
Greg Pugh Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 That's very nice. It looks like a fun build.
bbowser Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Us poor short track builders are so use to being the red headed step child and put in NASCAR or open wheel categories at shows we tend to migrate to the NASCAR section here. We'd be quite happy if Greg added a section for us I'm of the opinion that the 'Drag' and 'Nascar' categories should be collapsed into one, 'Racing vehicles'. Everyone would know where to look, and most folks know to put something in the subject line to identify. My 2c
