Last year the Speed World Challenge series was demoted on its own network. The coverage went from one hour per class per race, televised within a few days of the race, to a one hour recap with half-hour coverage of each class. Sometimes televised months after the actual race. If you followed the racing world, you'd read about the results long before they were televised...again, on their own bloody network!

It was a frustrating & embarrassing thing to see the Barrett-NASCAR Speed Channel do this to race fans yet again. Because we all know they only want to show NASCAR talk shows with fat guys wearing headsets an endless reruns of Barrett Jackson auctions, with a few lame "not really reality" shows thrown into the mix.

The series is renamed the SCCA World Challenge & is moving to the VS network because they will be given much better coverage & broadcast schedule. Though to be honest just about any local cable station or even Lifetime could do the series more justice than the ever-more-worthless Speed Channel.

Only if the evil man driver who wronged the protagonist female driver in the past gets what's coming to him and the woman gets her new sensitive man and blended family of children to be her pit crew. ;)

That's all great... unless you have DirecTV... :(

Bummer.

But honestly, it wasn't worth watching on Speed last year. Their coverage sucked, and considering they broadcast the races long after they were held, it really was a pretty grievous way to treat the fans. I gave up trying to follow it.

So you're either screwed by Speed Channel for lousy coverage, or screwed by Comcast for withholding programming to a competitive outlet. Welcome to the new world order? <_<

even for a NASCAR fan like me SPEED has been bad lately. horrible coverage of the ARCA series, and some Camping World truck races get tape delayed. VS has been showing Pro Cup races for the last couple years. coverage of Sprint Cup qualifying has been hit or miss. There's been talk of NASCAR developing there own network like the NFL and NHL have. Motor sports has become filler over at SPEED between episodes of "Wrecked" and "Pinks".......

We're not FULL Versus up here in Canada. B) The Outdoor Life Network is still up here and shows SOME VS., but not much.

The OLN brand was retained in Canada, and that channel continues to air some Versus programming but has kept its focus on outdoor sports and lifestyle programs to meet their CRTC licensing requirements.

Well, I figured if it wasn't you it would be me posting, I am with you 100%. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY for this as I am a big touring car/GT fan so finally rejoice for VS, the new Speedvision. Until I get Discovery HD, this'll do! I am done with Speed, only choice races and thats it. I love the DTM and BTCC and some other coverage in the winter but even that coverage sucks. B) I hope NASCAR gets it's on channel because it is ruining other series being on Fox Reality 2. I just think it's hilarious and SAD that a NASCAR fan dislikes you AND YOUR OWN SERIES THAT YOU SPONSER!, you don't even show.

haha Pat, FINALLY something we get over you guys as for racing ;)
