larman Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 I just finished this truck, It is a rebuild of a 70's era AMT kit I got in a bunch of built ups from Ebay. Since I have a bunch of 34's, from the first Trophy series to the Lindberg issues, I decided to have fun and build this as a "Hillbilly" hot rod. The Flathead that is in the stake body was in the truck before I dismantled it and stripped the green and brown brush paint from the model. I swapped in the custom FE engine from another derelict'34 I had. The "load" in the back of the truck is various junk parts that I painted and weathered. They are all glued together on a piece of acetate so they can be removed from the bed if I want. This was built from 100% junk parts and aside from the detail stuff I added like the chain and exhaust stacks, is all AMT. Thanks for looking! -Larman
crazyjim Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Very cool. You hit the weathering on the button.
RodneyBad Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Great looking HillBilly HotRod.. Nice weathering and looks..
David G. Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Good work on the weathering, it feels both old and solid at the same time.
Guest Gramps-xrds Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Looks great except for the shiny rear rims. I doubt it would have had a custom grill in it also. You did a great job. The weathering is right on.
Raul_Perez Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Very nice weathering!! I really like the 2x6 front bumper!! Later,
