RodneyBad Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 What a Rat Trap.. Nice work. Great lil Details. Really adds to it. Great work..
Edward Gore Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Fantastic. Is all the 'wood' real wood or painted material?
Railfreak78 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 That bare metal ( not bmf guys lol ) you did turned out great! I love the ripped apart seats! Wonderful build!
whale392 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Looks like she's ready for a resto! I really need to learn that weathering technique you have.....simply beautiful (in a rusty, grimy, falling apart sort-of way).
Zoom Zoom Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 It looks so realistic I'll bet it even smells old and rusty
Jairus Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Wow! That is just beautiful!!!! Only critique is the rust-through on the hood top. No way that could happen as water needs to collect where the rust-through happens. Rocker panels and running boards are more likely candidates. BUT, the rest is sooooo good and great details! I like it very much! Well done!

I like it very much! Well done! I agree, both on the "well-done" part and the "hood wouldn't rust through" part. You'd almost never have a horizontal panel like a hood or roof rust through, because moisture can't collect there... it just runs right off. Like J says, rockers, around wheelwell openings (where the inner fenders are attached to the outer sheetmetal, around the lower edges of the windshield... places like that where water can get in but can't get out so easily.
dimaxion Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 I don't want to put anyone down . I have watched hoods rust thruogh . On a hood a scratch in a small dent left go without touchup paint for years will shurley do so . I had to repair a two and 1/2 year Pontiac roof due to rust out . It happened right at the shape change from flat top to vertical 2 " above where the rain gutter wasn't . This was GM way to cut assembly costs at the expense of the consumer once again . The windows , both front and rear were also gone . BTW , not a vinyl roof . Along with not coating non exposed sheet metal with anything . This was a late '73 Pontiac in 1975 . Did you ever wander why GM cultiveted Japaneese sales ? Sorry about my rant . Excellent build . Thanx..This jogged memories .
